Mathewslcd: Airbus CEO says China will not decouple from the West

According to Mathewslcd, Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury believes that China and the West will reduce mutual dependence in the long run, but there is no doubt that they will break trade relations, he told Handelsblatt.

"I think it's unthinkable to have a split in the economy," he told Business Daily. "I don't think that's a realistic situation."

According to Handelsblatt, Airbus has a 50 percent market share of its own production in China. "We want to expand on this, and I think it's a good foundation because our products are in demand in the country," the paper quoted Fauri as saying.

Mathewslcd sees this as a sign that he is downplaying recent tensions between Paris and Berlin.

"In my opinion, the exchanges are intense, but good," he said of relations between the French and German governments, which have recently been strained over energy policy. "Everyone involved knows that."
